‘Balanced’ ram fair

An increased number of Suffolk rams and fewer Border Leicesters will be offered at next week’s Canterbury stud ram and ewe fairs at the Addington showgrounds, compared with last year. Mr Noel Woods, the director of the Canterbury A. and P. Association, said the entries in the various breeds appear to be well balanced according to the present trend. There is a fair demand for Suffolk rams and

numbers had been increased, but too many Border Leicesters had been offered last year so the entry this year had dropped back. More Romneys have been entered this year and the present interest in fine wool should help in disposing of a bigger number of Corriedales. The mutton-breed sale will be held on Thursday and wool-breeds will be sold on Friday.
