Canterbury A leads the South Island under-17 cricket tournament after four of the five rounds. The final round will be played today. Results from matches played at the Mandeville sports complex yesterday Wgpg’ Canterbury B 164 (G. Barrett 65, J. Preston 31; S. Hinton 4/ 28), beat Otago Minors 135 (W. Hoskin 39, D. Cartwright 29; B. Harrison 4/46). Tasman 180 (M. Douglas 48; M. Griffin 5/36) tied with Otago 180 (D. Hunter 56, G. Forgie 36; J. Page 4/49). Canterbury Minors 145 (D. Lund 49; R. Petrie 4/46) lost to Canterbury A 212 (L. Germon 36, A. Sherwood 32). Points: Canterbury A 18, Otago 15, Canterbury Minors 12, Canterbury B 12, Tasman 9, Otago Minors 6.
