Greenham Common women
Sir—l have been distressed to read some of the comments made by readers abut “the women of Greenham Common.” I see these same women as being the most sensitive, courageous and caring
members of our society. These women have been prepared to leave home and home comforts to suffer discomfort, inconvenience, abuse and even lack of understanding by readers of often biased reports by the media, for all our sakes—and to give the world’s children hope. They are also showing that the cruise missiles are being installed against the will of the British people. It could be one of the first steps towards successful nuclear disarmament—Yours, etc.,
GLORIA CALCUTT. December 8, 1983.
