The police and complaints
Sir,—On one page of “The Press” this week I read that the police are appointing a special internal investigating officer to deal with complaints against police staff. Elsewhere I read of the increasing violent crimes against innocent citizens, and the dangers that our police are exposed to in the execution of their duties. Is it not time that the media, the police hierarchy and the “antis” let the police get on with the job they are trained and paid to do, so that law-abiding citizens can once again feel safe in their homes and walk the streets without fear. — Yours, etc.,
D. JONES. December 9, 1983.
