South Africa
Sir,—ln answer to M. Johnston (“The Press,” November 28), the “yardstick” I use to claim that Bert Walker is a part of the South African propaganda team is his constant bias against the anti-apart-heid movements and his dissemination of truths, half-truths and downright lies which pour daily out of South Africa. The writer’s claim that I support “anything anti-white-South Africa” is not true. I support most things anti-apartheid and would point out that there are many white South Africans living in Christchurch who support the various anti-apartheid movements. The enemy of peace and justice is the apartheid regime in South Africa. They cannot rationalise t’.eir evil system. Lets all get on with the job of bringing pressure to bear for peaceful change. — Yours, etc.,
GRAEME YARDLEY. November 28, 1983.
