A new reception area for beneficiaries opened yesterday at the Department of Social Welfare offices in the Housing Corporation building, Cathedral Square. It will replace inquiry counters on three floors of the building. All inquiries for benefits, with the exception of domestic purposes and unemployment benefits will be met by interviewers on the ground floor. Inquiries about unemployment benefits will still be made on the first floor, and domestic purposes benefits will be dealt with at the department’s office in Investment House, Manchester Street.
