Too wet for fruit
PA Whakatane Eastern Bay of Plenty fruitgrowers face big crop losses after 10 days of wet, humid weather. Strawberry growers, in the middle of their picking season, have been particularly hard hit. Berries have been infected by botrytis, which rots the fruit, and continual rain is hampering .picking.
