Attention to injuries

Sir,—l was astounded on reading a letter from Thora Rae (November 4) that she had so little compassion for the police dog Luke, also suggesting we direct our sympathies to the offender. All my sympathy goes to the police, and the dog-handlers who have to cope with such incidents. We cannot do without these splendid dogs for crime and drug detection, and I hope they are here to stay. If police or dog do get hurt, the average citizen is distressed. — Yours, etc., Mrs M. GUYMER. November 6, 1983.
