N.Z. Cup horses to compete

Hands Down, Our Mana and Camelot are New Zealand Cup candidates down to meet in the E. G. Mitchell Memorial, the feature race at the Cup trials to be held by the Christchurch Trotting Club at Addington Raceway this evening. They will be opposed by horses of the calibre of Ansett, Kind Nature and Mighty Me, rivals for the Firestone Cavallino Stakes, the second leg of the T.A.B. double on Cup day next Tuesday. The programme of eight races starts at 520 p.m. with the Mitchell Memorial due to be run at 7.30 p.m. There will be two penaltybearing races for maiden pacers, while the other fields have attracted a high proportion of the horses down to contest supporting races on the two days and two nights of the Metropolitan club’s Cup carnival.
