Sharon Reid injured
Sharon Reid will be out of action for the New Zealand Cup meeting. The promising Riccarton apprentice suffered a fracture of the pelvis when she fell from an inexperienced horse at Riccarton on Tuesday. . Reid had been booked to ride Every Show, Collection, Pokare, Silver Print, The Curate and Paddy Beaufort on the first day of the
meeting. The mounts on Every Show, top weight for the Edward Lumley Handicap on Saturday, and The Curate, which is engaged in the Marquee “1800,” have gone to John Dowling, and Pokare will now be ridden by Grant Davison in the Panache Handicap. Reid’s injury is expected to keep her sidelined for at least six weeks.
