Indonesia to ban foreign shows
NZPA-Reuter Jakarta The Indonesian Govern-, meat will ban the showing of foreign-made television series over its State monopoly television broadcasting system beginning next year, the official Antara news, agency reports. . The Information Minister, Mr Harmoko, said that Indonesian viewers preferred
to see Indonesian films rather than foreign ones. At present the State television station airs one foreign-made series a dayto an estimated 25 million viewers. The Government earlier banned television commercials, saying that they pushed the people towards consumerism.
