Saloon pair set record
PA Palmerston North Robbie Francevic of Auckland and John Morton made it two out of two by winning the second round of the Benson and Hedges saloon car series at Manfeild yesterday. They set a new record covering 123 laps during the three-hour race, two laps better than the mark set by Peter Brock and David Oxton last year. Kent Baident and Kevin McNamara produced an outstanding drive in their two-litre Toyota Ceiica to take second place on the same lap as the winning Commodore. In third place, a lap down, were Denny Hulme and Ray Smith, with another Commodore, driven by Trevor McLean and Alan Kemp, fourth.
