Farrant unavailable
Tony Farrant, who played two matches for the Canterbury Shell Series cricket team last summer, is unavailable for representative selection this season. However, Farrant has said that he was still “as keen as ever” to continue to bowl for Burnside-West at club level.
“I feel that I just need a break after a few seasons of being available for all cricket,” said Farrant. “It has got to the stage where I could not do myself justice if I was
selected in a team. “I don’t ease off now I might flag it all away. This way I can assess the situation again next season,” he said.
