A disconsolate Mr Richard Lowen takes possession of his badly battered GT750 Ducati motor-cycle at the Christchurch Police Station yesterday afternoon. The machine, valued at $4000, was stolen on August 11 and found this week on a vacant section in Long Street, Woolston. Parts worth $2500 had been stripped from it. This is the second Ducati Mr Lowen has lost to thieves. The first, a $7000 Darmah, was stolen from outside the Waltham Arms Tavern on November 2 last year.
