Conditions of South Island ski-fields, as reported by the New Zealand Snow Centre at midday yesterday.— Mt Hutt: Last fall October 13, 130 cm base, spring snow, all facilities operating, chains to be carried.
Tasman Glacier: Last fall 15cm, October 13, surface powder, spring ski-ing, planes operating subject to weather. Ben Obau: Last fall 15cm, October 13, surface powder, spring ski-ing, helicopter oper-
ating subject to weather. Cardrona: Last fall Icm, October 12, spring snow, all facilities operating. Mt Dobson: Last fall October 13, 100 cm base, spring snow, main runs groomed, all facilities operating, chains to be carried, open week-ends only. Harris Mountains: Last fall 15cm, October 13, 100 cm base, excellent ski-ing. Fox Glacier: Operating subject to weather.
