Pelting talks reach no agreement
PA Blenheim Talks on Tuesday failed to reach an agreement on the introduction of automatic pelting machines at Waitaki-N.Z. Refrigerating’s new works at Blenheim and Stoke.
The company’s Marlborough manager, Mr Russell Plew, said yesterday that officers of the Central District branch of the Meat Workers’ Union did not accept the proposals put forward by the company on the introduction of automatic pelting machines.
Mr Plew said the unions did not indicate there would be any interruption of work on the issue and the units would continue to be worked during commissioning trials. „
