NZPA Washington A report that Princess Margaret might marry a London publisher, Norman Lonsdale, near Washington at the week-end was formally denied by her private secretary yesterday. The secretary, Lord Napier, said: “There is no truth whatsoever in the recent story circulating that
Princess Margaret is to be married.”
A “Washington Times” gossip columnist, Diana McLellan, wrote on Saturday that Princess Margaret and friends were gathering in Orange, a Virginia town, and that this might mean she was planning to wed Mr Lonsdale, whom the British Embassy in Washington said was in Italy.
