Public Notices AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1977 PUBLIC NOTICE OF VARIATIONS THE Amurl County Council has prepared two variations to the Reviewed District Scheme. Variation No. 1 — Waiau Water Supply Policies relating to the protection of the Waiau water supply Intake In the bed of the Mason River from pollution are to be Included in the Scheme statement Variation No. 2— Waste Treatment Systems Controls are proposed for all waste treatment plants or ponds (including any area on to which effluent Is discharged, sprayed, or disposed of) so that they may not be located within: — 150 metres from any building for human habitation; and — 50 metres from any boundary of the property on which the plant or ponds are located; and — 300 metres from any residential zone. The variations may be inspected at the County Office, Culverden, and at the Council’s Consultants, Royds Sutherland McLeay Limited, 71 Armagh Street, Christchurch at any time when the above places are open to the public. Forms for submissions and objections (Form C) are available at the Council’s offices. Submissions and objections to the variations or any part thereof may be made by any body or person affected or representing some relevant aspect of the public Interest Submissions and objections shall be In writing on Form C prescribed In the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1978 or to the like effect and shall be lodged at the office of the Council not later than Thursday, November 3, 1983. At a later date every submission and objection will be open for public inspection and any body or person who wishes to support or oppose any submission or objection will be entitled to do so. THE commission has been appointed persuant to the Commissions ot Inquiries Act 1908 to Inquire Into and report upon: (a) The circumstances In which any person who Is or has been employed by the Broadcasting Corporation ot New Zealand under Section 33 of Broadcasting Act 1976 or under a contract of service has entered Into a further contractual arrangement with the Corporation for the provision of any services: and the propriety of any such further contractual arrangement: (b) Whether any person who Is or has been employed by the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand under Section 38 of the Broadcasting Act, 1976 or under a contract of service or who has entered into a contract with the Corporation for the supply of services in the production of programmes is or has been engaged in any activities involving a conflict with the Interest of the Corporation: (c) Whether the terms and condition of service of persons employed by the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand and the terms and conditions of contract entered Into by any person with the CorporaUon for the supply of services in the production of programmes give the Corporation proper control of the activities of any of such persons In relation to the Corporation’s functions; and, if so, whether proper control is being exercised by the Corporation: (d) Whether the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand deals properly, In respect of the opportunity to be engaged as a performer, as between persons who wish to be engaged by the Corporation for entertainment programmes: (e) Whether the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand deals properly, in respect of advertising, as between persons who wish to use the Corporations services for that

purpose: (f) The neccesslty or expediency of any legislation In respect of any of the matters referred to In paragraph (a) to (e) of this order: (g) Such other matters arising out of the premises as may come to your notice In the course of your Inquiries and which you consider should be investigated In connection therewith, and upon any matters which you consider should be brought to the attention of the Government But nothing in the warrant of appointment authorises or empowers the Commission to Inquire into any matter which occurred before January 1, 1979. Notice is hereby given that, on Wednesday, October 12, 1983, commencing at 10.15 a.m., the commission will hold a preliminary meeting in its rooms on the 4th Floor, Feltex House, 8-10 Sturdee St Wellington. Would persons and organisations Interested In the inquiry (or their Counsel and representatives) for the purpose of determining who may appear at the hearings, the scope, extent and general nature of the material to be presented to it and any other preliminary matters related to the Inquiry.
