Big advertiser
The biggest advertisers on American television are food manufacturers. The next most extensively advertised products are toilet articles, automotive products, over-the-counter drugs and soaps and cleaning products, in that order. Procter and Gamble alone spent $412.7 million on TV advertising in the first half of this year. The biggest surge in advertising between January and June was for computers and computer equipment.
