Expansion by Mair

Mair and Company, Christchurch-based primary product export group, is further expanding its interests in the agricultural sector. The group has extended the Mair Foods operation to include horticultural products among its product range. Work within Mair Foods has commenced in a number of areas including market and product development, establishing long term marketing objectives, and identifying market sectors for products currently available in New Zealand, and determining market opSirtunities which apply to ose products not currently produced in New Zealand. Mair and Company propose to invite individual horticulturalist groups and horticultural co-operatives to discuss market opportunities with them.

Mair and Company intend to utilise their expertise in the marketing of primary products to assist the New Zealand horticultural industry to develop to its fullest potential, a company spokesman said.
