New children’s hospital
PA Wellington Auckland will get a new children’s hospital, the Government announced yesterday. The Auckland Hospital Board had been authorised to prepare developed sketch plans, said the Minister of Health, Mr Malcolm. The new hospital allows for 194 in-patient beds and a gross area of 19,000 sq m.
New items included in the approval are in intensivenursing observation unit, a more comprehensive audiology department, increased rehabilitation and audiology areas, and improved facilities for patients rooming in.
