Sangster buys shares in top N.Z. colts

PA Wellington The English pools magnate, Mr Robert Sangster, has bought half-shares in the top New Zealand colts, Beechcraft and Fine Offer, for an undisclosed six-figure sum. Both horses will join the Colin Hayes stable in Melbourne. Hayes, on behalf of Mr Sangster, inspected both colts yesterday and the sales were confirmed later. Beechcraft will be taken

to Melbourne in about 10 days for the Caulfield Guineas. His trainer, Kevin Crampton from Takanini, said yesterday that he would begin working Beechcraft again today with the idea of having him at top again for Caulfield.

A bay colt by Sea Anchor from Sky, Beechcraft has won his last four races, the last two the Wanganui Guineas and the Hawke’s Bay Guineas.
