'Bite and Bytes’ computer show
The Christchurch microcomputer magazine, “Bits and Bytes,” is holding a computer show at the Town Hall on Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3. National and local computer firms have indicated they will take part. On Friday, it is hoped to attract school parties and business users, and families are expected to be the main visitors on the Saturday. Radio station 3ZB is participating in the promotion of the show. “This will be the first micro show in Christchurch designed to cater for educational and hobby interests
as well as for business users,” said Mr Paul Crooks, one of the partners in “Bits and Bytes.” “It will be an ideal time for students with the examinations over, and the perfect time for those buying micros for Christmas to see the various brands at one location.” Sales of the magazine have risen steadily in the year since it was founded, and paid circulation now exceeds 7000.
The three partners in the magazine, Messrs Paul Crooks, Dion Crooks, and Neill Birss, are now diversifying into the software and computer-book fields. d
