Scow Echo

Sir,—The above coastal trader from Blenheim was a regular caller at the port of Lyttelton in the 1920 s and 1930 s when she was not trading between Blenheim and Wellington. I am the co-author of a history of the scow from 1905 to the present day, and would like to hear from any of her crew, when she was owned by T. Eckford and Company, Ltd, of Blenheim, from 1920 to 1965. We would also like to hear from any former watersiders who worked on the old scow in Lyttelton, plus what cargoes she brought in and departed with for either Blenheim and I or Wellington. All information will be welcomed by me at 144 South Street, Blenheim.—Yours, etc., ARTHUR J. SPROSEN. September 19, 1983.
