Parties compared
Sir,—l share Patrick Neary’s fear of too much regimentation. I say this as one who survived five years of boarding school, 18 months as a Jesuit novice in Melbourne and more' than three years as an English teacher in Colonel Gadaffi’s Libya. Where I obviously differ from Mr Neary is that I do not feel regimented in the Labour Party. The whole point of the current Labour campaign is that we are a team, not individuals operating in isolation. I am sure that Mr Neary would not deny that a degree of regimentation has made the Canterbury rugby team a Ranfurly Shield winning one.—Yours, etc., FRANK MINEHAN. September 20, 1983. [Now that both sides have had a spokesman, this subject is left to the electors—Editor.]
