Total system for Owens Group
Given a tight time frame, CBL Waikato, Ltd, recently contracted and * implemented a total system for the Owens Group, Ltd, in exactly two months. Its success in rewriting and transferring the Owens Group general ledger, debtors and accounts-pay-able from the Multivac bureau to CBL’s DEC PDP-11/70 computers was facilitated by the use of the fourth generation language User-11. “One of the conditions of the fixed-price contract,”
explained Mr Bill Haughie, general manager of CBL Waikato, “was that the Owens Group method of operation and internal procedures would remain unchanged.” The procedure was accomplished .to everyone’s satisfaction, he said. CBL anticipates developing further systems for the Owens Group.
