N.I. riders for Ashburton
Three North . Island jockeys, David Walsh, Gary Phillips, and “Baz” Dowling, will travel south to ride at Ashburton tomorrow.
Walsh has been engaged for Handsome Heir, Donizetti and Salutation, runners for John Bourne’s Riccarton stable, and Philips’s mounts include Third Degree, The Kid and Astral Row, members of Peter Jones’s team.
Dowling’s rides are In the Glen, Pronto King, Mac William, Pidgeon’s Blood, Amacola, Imperial Giri, Our Zulu, Prince Town and Our Contraband.
