Military activity meeting
The peace researcher, Mr Owen Wilkes, will speak on United States military involvement in New Zealand at a public meeting tomorrow evening called by Citizens for the Demilitarisation of Harewood.
The meeting will be held at Aldersgate, at 7.30 p.m. The newly formed coalition is made up of representatives of peace groups in the Christchurch area who are concerned that many American flights using Christchurch Airport are connected with the United States Air Force Military Airlift Command, and are unrelated to the United States Antarctic Research programme.. Mr Wilkes will place special emphasis on Christchurch Airport in his talk, as it has been claimed to be part of the network he has described as a global “aerial pipeline.”
