Baby left

A man, aged 18, helped his girlfriend in New York abandon their new-born baby, but had second thoughts about it and retrieved the child and telephoned the police, who arrested him and the baby’s mother. Keyin Mays and Denise Husband, aged 17, put the child inside a bag shortly after her birth, and took her to a marshy area and left her there. Mays retrieved the child the next day. The baby is in a critical but stable condition in Nassau County Medical Centre.—Massapequa.
