U.S. actor faces gun charge

NZPA-Reuter Los Angeles The actor, Todd Bridges, who plays Gary Coleman’s older brother in the television series “Diff’rent Strokes,” has pleaded not guilty to carrying a loaded revolver in his Porsche sportscar. Bridges, aged 18, had earlier been quoted by his publicity agent, Ms Barbara Brogliatti, as saying he had bought the weapon after a rifle shot was fired at him by a group of people re-

ported to be members of the Ku Klux Klan.

Police alleged they found the gun when they stopped Bridges for speeding early on the morning of July 20. Carrying a loaded weapon in a car without permission is an offence in California.

Bridges, who made a brief appearance in Beverly Hills Municipal Court in Los Angeles to enter his plea, could face up to six months imprisonment if found guilty.
