Tanzania Society in recess
PA Wellington The New Zealand-Tanza-nia Society has gone into recess because of the decrease in contacts between the two countries.
The society was formed in 1978, with Sir Guy Powles as patron, to help the many Tanzanian students who came to New Zealand as part of an aid relationship that began in the Kirk era. Its president, Mr Terry Conaghan, said the Africa Information Centre had agreed to accept responsibility for the society’s records while it was in recess.
