Hold-up foiled?
PA Auckland The police said they might have foiled an armed hold-up attempt when they chased two cars from the Dominion Road Post Office in Auckland last evening. They found a man, a shotgun, ammunition, and a balaclava in one of the cars which was involved in an accident in Mt Eden. The other car was found near Morningside Drive. Two more people were helping the police with inquiries, said Detective Inspector G. F. Hugglestone.
“The indications are at this stage that an armed holcfup of the Post Office might have been foiled,” said Mr Hugglestone.
