State Services bill for House soon
PA Wellington A bill amending State Services conditions of employment will be introduced in Parliament next week, said the Prime Minister, Mr Muldoon, yesterday. Speaking after a caucus meeting, Mr Muldoon said the bill was almost ready for introduction and would be tidied up within the next 24 hours. “We will get it in next week, get it to a select committee,” he said. “What we want to do is get it out
in public.” “There has been so much discussion of it and so many misleading statements made about what is proposed and what is in the bill that we want to get the bill out in public so everyone can have a look at it. “It will go to a select committee and then we can take our time with it. There won’t be any rush. The select committee can consider it and bring it back into the House and pass it before we rise,” said Mr Muldoon.
