Q.E. II council visit
Christchurch will today and tomorrow be host to the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council for one of its twomonthly meetings. The council usually meets in Wellington but once a year gathers in another centre. The aim is for council members to exchange ideas with people in local arts communities, and the regional and community arts councils. Some of Christchurch’s professional and amateur arts groups will also be visited. The council will discuss
funding at. its two-day meeting. This afternoon, a reception will be held for the council and people associated with the arts in Christchurch. This evening the council will see “Loot” at the Court Theatre.
Visits will be made to the Robert McDougall Art Gallery, the Gingko Gallery, and the Brooke/Gifford Gallery, craft groups and other artists. The council will also tour the Arts Centre, the Christchurch Town Hall, and the C.S.A. Gallery.
