Miss N.Z. hopefuls aim for sky
Shelley Kahn (“Miss Auckland”), Donna Feringa (“Miss Canterbury”), George Ellis, the organiser of the “Miss New Zealand” contest, and Michele Holland (“Miss Otago”) tried skeet shooting on the Waldronville shooting range, Dunedin, yesterday. “Miss Bay of Plenty,” Maree Herbert, was the only “Miss New Zealand” finalist missing yesterday. She was diagnosed as having swollen glands. The tour manager and coordinator, Miss Teresa Killian, said a doctor saw Maree yesterday morning and advised rest and plenty of vitamin C during the next few days.
The final will be held on August 27.
