Top lifesaver chosen
A Redcliffs man who has been a surf lifesaver for 28 years was last evening chosen as the Canterbury Surf Lifesaving Association’s “Surf Lifesaver of the Year.” Mr Murray Lord, aged 42, is a member and the out-going president of the Sumner Surf Lifesaving Club. The award is given “annually for services to surf lifesaving.
Another member of the Sumner club, Mr Neville Staples, received the association’s award for distinguished service to the association. Service awards went to Messrs Ray Rountree, Geoff Le Cren and Greg McClurg, ail of the Taylors Mistake club, and Mrf>Norman Webb, of tht' Sumner* club. £
