Semi-final to Manly

NZPA Sydney The Sydney rugby league premiership favourite, Manly-Warringah, ended Brisbane’s KB Cup hopes with a polished 23-14 win in the semi-finals.

With the full-back, Graham Eddie, as its spearhead, Manly put on four tries to two and was always in control.

A replacement, Phil Blake, scored two tries and kicked a field goal while Chris Close and Ross Windshuttle also crossed Brisbane’s line.

Brisbane’s points came from tries by Mitch Brennan and replacement forward Gavin Jones while

Mai Meninga landed three goals from five attempts. Manly will now meet the winner of the CronullaEasts semi-final in the final on August 10.
