Orienteering boom

Orienteering in Canterbury is booming. The Canterbury secondary schools’ championships attracted a record 140 competitors from schools throughout the province. The events were held at Hagley Park and were organised by the Peninsula and Plains Orienteering Club. Results were:—

A course (form five and above). — Kaiapoi H.S. 1, St Andrew’s College 2, Christchurch Girls H.S. 3. B course (forms three and four). — Amuri Bl 1, Amuri B2 2, Kaiapoi H.S. 3. C course (forms one and two). — Rangi Ruru school 1, Hawarden area school 2, Amuri school 3.
