QX10 in demand

The Auckland computer manufacturer and supplier, Microprocessor Developments, Ltd, reports big demand for the new Epson QXIO personal computer, even before it has been officially launched in this country. _ An initial shipment of 20 computers was sold out before it arrived, according to MDL. Further shipments are imminent.

Three basic models of the QXIO are available. Two are CP/M versions, one of which has more memory than the other and offers a variety of type faces on its screen. The third model uses the Epson Valdocs operating system coupled with a unique keyboard (called the “human applications standard computer interface”

keyboard). Included with Valdocs is software for word processing, personal diaries, calcu-lator-style operations, business graphics, electronic mail, and electronic filing. The Valdocs version of the QXIO will also run CP/ M, giving the user access to accounting, medical, surveying, advertising, and other software packages.
