Plotter jailed
A British judge has jailed for eight years an Armenian who admitted plotting to take hostages at the Turkish embassy in London in a bid to force the release of Armenian prisoners in Turkey. Zaven Bedros, aged 32, from Beirut, said during his trial that he was a member of the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia, the same group which said it had planted the bomb which killed seven people at Orly airport, Paris. — London.
