Graham hurt again
The decision to rest the regular Kiwi captain, Mark Graham, from the recent rugby league test against the Kangaroos in Brisbane was thoroughly justified the day after the test. Graham, in his first match since suffering a knee injury against Australia at Auckland on June 12, aggravated the problem while captaining his North Sydney club side against South Sydney and had to leave the field in the first half. The risk of such a happening persuaded Graham to stand down from the test. His replacement, . Kurt Sorensen, subsequently played a vital role in New Zealand’s 19-12 victory.
