Freeze complaints
PA Wellington One hundred complaints alleging breaches of the price freeze were received in the week ending July 6, said the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Templeton, yesterday. During the same week his department completed investigations of 97 complaints. In 88 cases the prices charged were in order, Mr Templeton said. In the same period 41 hardship applications were received, he said. Nine applications were declined, four were withdrawn and 29 approved in the week. Details of the 29 applications approved are: Christchurch Hunt — an increase of 50 per cent in admission charges for race meetings.
Fairlie High School, South Canterbury — an increase of 16 per cent in school ski charges. Lincoln Radio and TV, Ltd, Christchurch — an increase of 13 per cent in service contract rates.
Nissan Motor Distributors (NZ), Ltd, Auckland — increases ranging from 1 to 6 per cent on a range of motor vehicles.
