Hairdressing awards
Christchurch hairdressers won most of the awards at the annual CanterburyWestland Ladies Hairdressing Association championships held in the Christchurch Town Hall on Sunday-
Eighty-five hairdressers entered 140 styles in nine different categories. Christopher Jones, of Paul Davis won two of the four special prizes — the best colour of the day award and the most artistic style award.
Michael Ogden, of Headquarters Hair Design Dunedin, was judged the best apprentice, and Roy Griffiths of Scissors, the best senior.
The first and second place winners in each section will compete in the national championships in Dunedin in October.
