Plot failed
The British police thwarted a plot to assassinate the Turkish Ambassador when they arrested a terrorist who had gone to London on a suicide mission, the Old Bailey criminal court has been told. The prosecution said that Zaven Bedros, aged 32, a Syrian national of Armenian descent and a member of the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia, had been held after he collected weapons after arriving in London on August 31 last year.—London.
