Man for trial in arson case

PA Auckland A man accused of lighting fires in the Farmers’ Trading Company building has been committed for trial in the High Court at Auckland. At a preliminary hearing in the District Court at Auckland yesterday, Justices of the Peace, Mr J. Jaffe and Mr L. Warren, found that the prosecution had presented sufficient evi-

dence for Richard lan Makeef, aged 23, electrician, of Mangere East, to stand trail on all six charges. The charges related to events on November 16, February 14 and 15, March 17 and 28 and April 6. Makeef was committed to the High Court for a trial date to be set on August 12, and released on bail of $2OOO with two similar sureties.
