Forest rallysprint
About 50 rally drivers will tackle a tricky 3.5 km course in the Mt Thomas Forest in the Autosport Club’s rallysprint on Saturday. The course includes two fords and a frightening downhill section. Top contenders are expected to be Dave Brown, of
Timaru, in his newly acquired Datsun 140 J, and local drivers Ross Bailey (Datsun Stanza 2.0), Bruce Reid (Mazda RX3), Paul Dickson (Escort 1600), Alan Duthie (Mazda RX3) and Roger Townshend (Datsun 1200). The event is sponsored by Ross Baily Motors and Direct Furniture.
