PA Wellington A former president of the New Zealand Employers Federation, Mr J. E. Hammond, has been appointed honorary consul to Nigeria. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Cooper, has said that the appointment of Mr Hammond would much facilitate the work of the New Zealand High Commissioner in London, who is crossaccredited to Nigeria. Mr Hammond lives in Lagos, Nigeria, and is managing director of Dunlop Nigerian Industries, Ltd. Before going to Nigeria, Mr Hammond was president of the Employers’ Federation from 1973 to 1975 and chairman of the New Zealand Manufacturing Development Council from 1978 to 1981.
