Fund-raising run by cadets

[ Twenty Royal New Zealand Air Force cadets will ; run from Greymouth to Christchurch over Arthur’s Pass next week to raise money for the R.N.Z.A.F. museum at Wigram. The sponsored run will take the cadets 24 hours during July 9 and 10. They will leave Greymouth at 11 a.m. on July 9, after a day of fund-raising activities on the West Coast. The 270 km run is expected to finish on the Sunday afternoon. The cadets will carry a baton with a

message of support for the $2.5 million expansion to the museum from the Greymouth Returned Services Association. A flying display by the museum’s Harvard aircraft will be staged on July 8 at Greymouth. The museum extensions will link two big hangars and provide space for display galleries, a memorial hall, and several vintage aircraft. Most of the sponsorship for the race has come from the public of Christchurch.

Anyone wishing to support the run can get in touch with Officer Cadets Michael Dore or Doug Jamieson, at the Wigram Base.
