Landlords to meet
Landlords from throughout New Zealand will meet in Christchurch at the weekend for their first national conference. Topics to be discussed include the rent freeze regulations and recent revisions to them, tax provisions, and declining profits for landlords and in property investment. The president of the Christchurch Landlords’ Association, Mr Alan Roberts, said yesterday that 75 people were expected to attend the conference, the main purpose of which was to form a national federation of landlord and property-owner associations. “We are getting discontented with how we are being controlled and legislated against,” he said.
