Bail remand for five
Five more persons arrested as a result of the work of an undercover police officer in Christchurch over the last 11 months have appeared in the District Court on a total of 20 charges. Each of the defendants, who did not plead, was remanded by Judge Frampton on bail ranging from being at large to $2OOO, to dates between June 22 and July 1. They are, with the charges in parentheses:— Stephen Bruce Angus, aged 24, unemployed (charged with selling cannabis), Christopher Rodney Cook, aged 27, a storeman
(charged with possession of cannabis, selling cannabis, and receiving a safe and contents, valued at $5000), Dallas Pauline Cook, aged 18, unemployed (charged with selling cannabis), Ward lan Magon, aged 18, unemployed, (three charges of stealing property, valued at $1313, four charges of burglary, one charge of possessing cannabis for sale or supply, and eight charges of receiving property, to a total value of $13,209), and Patrick Chesmar, aged 19, a timber worker (one charge of burglary, two charges of theft, and one charge of unlawfully converting a i car).
